Blocked AR15 magazines are modified at the manufacturer with a proprietary block which drops the ability for the magazine to take more than 10 rounds. This allows you to still have a 30rd magazine body, but comply with your local laws. AR15 blocked 10/30 magazines are produced by numerous manufacturers, and you can expect the same quality from their blocked magazines as their normal ones.
